Symptoms of Stevens Johnson Syndrome Include:

• persistent, serious rash
• persistent fever
• conjunctivitis
• flu-like symptoms
• inflammation of the mucosal membranes (mouth, throat, eyes, genital tract, intestinal tract)
• ulcers inside the mouth
• inflammation of the tongue, gums and lips
• inflammation of the throat
• skin lesions
• blisters and bleeding of the lips, eyes, mouth, nasal passage, and genital areas
• skin sloughing off in sheets (like a chemical burn from the inside out)
• lesions in the lungs
• permanent blindness
• dry-eye syndrome
• photophobia
• lung damage
• chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• asthma
• permanent loss of nail beds
• scarring of the esophagus
• arthritis
• chronic fatigue syndrome

These are dangerous because they lead to:

• severe pain
• increased chance of infection since protective skin dies and sloughs off
• inability to eat or drink
• sloughing of lung tissue creates breathing problems
• and these can lead to death in many cases

If you find that you have Stevens Johnson Syndrome the in addition to seeking medical attention you may be able to pursue a lawsuit against the drug manufacturing company. You can pursue this suit if your SJS is not caused by a bacterial infection and if you can trace your SJS to the use of a particular drug. The benefits of a class action suit are:

• increased chance of success
• strength in numbers
• less expensive to file (cost is spread amongst the group)
• however, the settlement will be split between more people which means less money for the individual

The benefits of a individual suit are:

• larger settlement figure if you win
• strong cases are likely to win without the assistance of other claimants
• however, the entire cost of filing suit is on the individual and there is a greater chance of failure
GA

Contact an experienced Stevens Johnson Syndrome Lawyer today.

Find an Stevens Johnson Syndrome Lawyer associated with a major Stevens Johnson Syndrome Lawfirm today at hugesettlements.

About the Author

Pulmonary Hypertension

Serevent Side Effects Put Serevent in Top 5 Most Dangerous Drugs by Margaret Wommack

Serevent is an asthma inhalation medication, a bronchodilator, that relaxes the muscles in airways. It is preventative and not effective when taken during an asthma attack.

Possible side effects of Serevent include allergic reactions noted by breathing problems or swelling of the throat, lips, tongue or face, hives, headaches, dizziness, insomnia, tremors, sweating, nausea, and dry mouth. In many cases, Serevent users have an increased risk of dying from asthma related problems especially if they are taking anti-inflammatory medications even though the FDA first approved Serevent to supplement and not replace anti-inflammatory drugs. Furthermore, the FDA did not approve Serevent to treat acute symptoms of asthma, just basic asthma symptoms and COPD (chromic obstructive pulmonary disorder). Then in 2004 the FDA named Serevent among the top five most dangerous prescription drugs on the U.S. market.

If you or a loved one has suffered from the adverse effects of Serevent, then you may be able to file a lawsuit against GlaxoSmithKline, the manufacturer of Serevent. GlaxoSmithKline was instructed by the FDA to put a black box warning on the drug about the potential side effects, but it did not comply and has yet to add the black box warning. This is willful negligence and if it has injured you, then you should be compensated financially to repay your medical expenses, lost wages and physical and emotional suffering.
GA

Contact an experienced Serevent Lawyer today.

Find information about Serevent Side Effects associated with a major Dangerous Drug Lawfirm today at hugesettlements.

Glyconutrients by C. Bailey-Lloyd/LadyCamelot

What are Glyconutrients? Glyconutrients are eight newly discovered biologically-active sugars that are responsible for making up the structure of every body cell. First discovered in Aloe Vera, Glyconutrients are essential to good health. It is because of these glyconutrients that cells are able to communicate with one another.

The 8 glyconutrients are:

Mannose

Galactose

Glucose

Fucose

Sylose

N-acetylglucosamine

N-acetylgalactosamine

N-acetylneuraminic acid

A deficiency in glyconutrients can lead to a weakend immune system, causing ill health. Because nutrition and disease correlate with one another, scientists have found that glyconutrients are vital components to health and overall wellbeing.

While we are exposed to air, food and water toxins, our foods are also being stripped of these crucial nutrients; therefore, glyconutrients play a substantial role in helping to prevent many disease conditions by boosting our immune systems and cognitive ability as well.

Based on research, it is necessary that glyconutrients are added to ones' diet.

To learn more about glyconutrients or if you are interested in finding out how you can obtain proper glyconutrients, feel free to peruse our consumer resources' directory at Holistic Junction today.

References:

1. The immature heartworms called microfilaria

travel through the blood stream.

The microfilaria settle into the heart chambers and major pulmonary blood vessels. This causes a blockage of the

blood flow and pathological changes to the surrounding tissues.

This blockage happens when the larvae grow into adult worms. An adult female heartworm can grow up to fourteen

inches and can live as long as five years.

A female heartworm can produce thousands of microfilariae, which is transmitted into a mosquito when it bites an

infected dog, and subsequently injected into the next dog that that mosquito dines on.

What Are The Signs That A Dog May Have Heartworms?

ØUsually the first system is weight loss. The dogs’ hair may become dull and brittle.

ØThe infected dog also may tier easily.

ØA persistent coughs and or labored breathing.

ØIn more progressed cases victims may vomit blood from ruptured lungs.

If the disease is not prevented or caught in time the result will be a slow painful death from congestive heart

failure.

What Do I Do If My Dog Is Infected?

Treatment is available but it can cost hundreds of dollars, and may be ineffective depending on the degree of

infestation.

The best defense against heartworms is routine checkups with your vet. Giving your dog heartworm medication once

a month easily prevents heartworms.

Warning: You Must Have Your Dog Tested For Heartworms Before Starting Heartworm Medication!

About the Author

je Dunn has published several books on dogs and has free information all about dog training,

health, and care at: Dogs-First.com

Understanding Bariatric Surgery

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity among adults has risen significantly in the U.S. over the last 20 years. In fact, statistics show that 30 percent of adults 20 years of age and older are obese (body mass index [BMI] of 30 or higher). That translates to more than 60 million people. Although reducing the prevalence of obesity among adults is a national health objective, the health of the nation seems to be getting worse instead of better.

There are myriad complications associated with obesity, including endocrine abnormalities, hypertension, respiratory and pulmonary ailments, gallbladder disease, degenerative arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and certain types of cancer. Individuals suffering from obesity may also have psychological issues stemming from a low body image and repeated diet failures. For many obese individuals, diet failure is extremely common and the odds of significant weight loss are low.

Those who have tried and failed to lose weight using diet modification and exercise may find success using surgical methods such as Bariatric weight loss surgery. The word “Bariatric” comes from the Greek words “baros,” meaning weight, and “iatrike,” meaning treatment. There are two basic types of bariatric weight loss surgeries for obesity: restriction procedures and malabsorption procedures.

Restriction procedures reduce the size of the stomach through the use of a gastric band, staples, or both, and do not interfere with the normal digestion process. Malabsorption procedures, on the other hand, reduce the size of the stomach and bypass duodenum, the first segment of the small intestine, and sometimes the whole of the jejunum (the mid-section of the intestines).

About the Author

Bariatric Surgery Info provides detailed information on bariatric surgery, including cost, patients, centers, diet, financing, and complications, as well as specific procedures like laparoscopic and bypass surgery. It is a combination of two drugs, fenfluamine and phentermine. The FDA requested its removal from the market late in 1997 when reports arose of fen-phen’s role in causing heart valve disease and pulmonary hypertension. Echocardiograms of women taking fen-phen revealed a 30% rate of heart valve abnormality, even though patients had no symptoms. In July of 1997, researchers at the Mayo Clinic reported dozens of cases of a rare valvular disease among women who took fen-phen. It was at this point that doctors were alerted to start warning patients of the dangers of fen-phen.

Fen-phen works by increasing seratonin levels in the brain. Seratonin is responsible for moods including a feeling of satiety, or being full. The “fen”, fenfluramine, alone causes severe mood swings and depression, which made it unpopular. By adding the stimulant phentermine to counterbalance the depressing effects, people did not feel depressed by the drug-imposed chemical imbalance, they only felt less hungry. Unfortunately, the excess seratonin was also found to be responsible for the serious heart valve problems.

Directly after the link between fen-phen and heart disease was revealed, 66 reports came in of heart valve disease associated with the drug. Also, patents who were only taking one of the two, fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine, experienced the same symptoms. Fen-Phen went off the market in 2004, and is now no longer widely available. As recently as April of 2005, American Lawyer magazine reviled that more than 50,000 product liability lawsuits have been filed by fen-phen victims. Total liability paid out to these victims could reach as high as $14 billion.

Millions of dollars in damages have already been rewarded, as Wyeth, the pharmaceutical company that marketed fen-phen, is found responsible for the damage they have caused. Two plaintiffs in Philadelphia were each rewarded $100 million for the damage they suffered from fen-phen. If you or a loved one has been hurt by this disease, contact a lawyer immediately and you can get the drug company to pay.
GA

To find out why you need a Fen-Phen lawyer and read articles about dangerous drugs and Fen-Phen side effects, visit our website at hugesettlements.com.

If you have any questions or concerns about filing a Fen-Phen lawsuit, please contact a professional Fen-Phen attorney right away!
